Anchor Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Anchor is a deep-work timer with a flat to-do list and a graph of your focus. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information. In short: your sessions, tasks and builds stay on your device, there is no account, and the only data that leaves your phone is what runs the subscription and, unless you switch it off, anonymous usage counts and crash reports.

Your focus data stays on your device

Your sessions, tasks, streaks, builds and settings are stored only on your phone. They are never uploaded to any server — there is no cloud sync and no online account. The anonymous counts described below are not your records and cannot be used to rebuild them. Anchor's Export and Import features let you move your data yourself, via a file you create and control; that file is never sent to us.

No account, no personal data

There is no sign-up or login. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number. We never sell your data.

Advertising

Anchor does not display ads and does not use an advertising network.

Anonymous usage and crash reports

Anchor uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to learn whether the app works and where it breaks. It is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → App → Share anonymous usage. When it is off, nothing is sent.

What it records is counts and settings, never content:

It never includes your task names, session intentions, notes, name, email or phone number. Google also receives the technical information any app sends over the internet, such as an IP address (from which it derives an approximate country), and generates a random identifier for the app installation. Anchor does not use the Android advertising ID and does not use this data for advertising or ad personalization. There is no account to tie it to. Clearing the app's data gives the installation a new random identifier.

This data is held by Google for a limited period under Google's own retention settings. To ask us to help with a deletion request, email jdevsappstudio@gmail.com.

Purchases

Anchor Plus is a yearly auto-renewing subscription, with a free trial for first-time subscribers. The transaction is processed by Google Play; Google Play handles your payment and we never see or store your payment details. We use RevenueCat as our billing infrastructure to confirm and remember whether Anchor Plus is active. For this, RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly-generated app user identifier and your purchase status (including whether you are in a free trial and when the subscription renews or ends) — never your name, email, or any focus data. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it; you can manage or cancel it at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. "Restore purchases" uses the same mechanism to re-grant Anchor Plus on a new device.

Permissions

Children's privacy

Anchor is a general-audience app. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and it collects no personal information from anyone.

Deleting your data

On your device: your focus data lives only on your phone. Resetting the app's data erases it, and uninstalling the app removes it too. We hold no copy of it on any server.

With our service providers: a small amount of anonymous data is held by our billing provider — your anonymous app user identifier and purchase status in RevenueCat. None of it contains your name, email or focus data. To ask us to delete the record RevenueCat holds for your app user identifier, email jdevsappstudio@gmail.com and we will delete it. Deleting it means Anchor can no longer confirm a past purchase on that identifier.

Third-party services

These are the only third parties involved, and their own policies apply to the limited data above:

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
